The Belt and Road Diplomats' Cycling Series takes place in ZAEZ

At 9 a.m. on June 28, as the starting gun fired, the Belt and Road Diplomats' Cycling Series (Henan Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone Station) officially kicked off at Shuanghe Lake Central Park. Nearly 1,000 participants, including 32 diplomats from 17 Belt and Road partner countries, representatives of international students in China, as well as domestic road cyclists and cycling enthusiasts, gathered in the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone (ZAEZ).

Since its launch in 2023, the event has become a national-level distinctive sports IP. The 2026 season introduces a points-based scoring system for the first time, integrating competitive racing with diplomatic dialogues, industrial matchmaking, and urban culture and tourism integration. The race course is laid out along the Shuanghe Lake circuit, with each lap measuring 10.6 kilometers, linking ecological landscapes with the sci-tech innovation corridor. The event features four categories, balancing professional competition and mass participation. (Chinese source: Henan Daily Translator: Zhang Yahan)
