On May 19, Sanmenxia in central China's Henan Province launched its 2026 China Tourism Day celebrations and the 31st Yellow River Cultural Tourism Festival.

The event unveiled new travel routes centered on the Yellow River's cultural heritage, while promoting tourism services and cultural experiences aimed at attracting more visitors and boosting travel spending.

This year's festival, themed "New Rhythm of the Yellow River," features more than 20 activities, including cultural exhibitions, concerts, fashion shows, sports and outdoor events, food festivals, water activities, and tourism promotion programs designed to showcase local culture, history, cuisine, and lifestyle.

Located along the Yellow River, Sanmenxia is known for the Sanmenxia Dam, one of China's earliest major hydropower projects, as well as its rich history and annual swan migration.
