The 8th China International Import Expo: A Global Event Opening a New Chapter
The eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE), centered around the theme of "Shared Market, New Opportunities," blossomed as scheduled in Shanghai. A total of 155 countries, regions, and international organizations gathered for the event, with 290 Fortune Global 500 companies and leading industry enterprises bringing their finest products. Both the exhibition area and the number of participating companies set new records, showcasing the expo's vibrant energy and underscoring China's unwavering commitment to high-level opening-up.
This year's CIIE captivated global attention with its remarkable highlights. The number of participating enterprises from Belt and Road partner countries increased by 23.1% year-on-year, while enterprises from the least developed countries saw a growth of 23.5%. The active involvement of small and medium-sized enterprises further enhanced the expo's dynamism. Cutting-edge technologies and distinctive exhibits shone together: Tesla's Cybertruck made its Asia-Pacific debut, and Intuitive Fosun's da Vinci surgical robot demonstrated the strength of "Intelligent Manufacturing in China." A multitude of new product debuts and technology premieres made the expo a window for innovative achievements.
Amid this Eastern rendezvous, the Henan Pavilion stood out as a striking "Central Plains highlight." Stepping into the exhibition hall, profound cultural heritage intertwined with modern vitality: in the "Medicine in Henan" section, Zhongjing Wanxi Pharmaceutical's authentic medicinal materials exuded the millennia-old essence of traditional Chinese medicine; the "Food in Henan" area featured an array of time-honored delicacies such as Daokou braised chicken; the "Beverage in Henan" zone was filled with the aroma of Henan liquors, while the trendy tea brand Mixue Ice City added a youthful flair; and the "Beauty in Henan" section showcased the exquisite craftsmanship of Central Plains art through Bian embroidery, Ru porcelain, and woodblock New Year paintings.
Among them, emerging tea beverage brand Mixue Ice City collaborated with the Brazil National Pavilion to launch a limited-edition "Açaí Ice Cream," which became a popular new product at the expo. Furthermore, Mixue's plans to prepare for localized operations in the Brazilian market demonstrates the growing confidence of Chinese companies in expanding globally.
At this eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE), millennia of heritage blended with modern trends, and international perspectives converged with local characteristics, injecting a continuous stream of new vitality into the world economy.
