By the end of 2024, Henan's permanent resident population stood at 97.85 million, including 57.95 million urban residents and 39.90 million rural residents. The urbanization rate of the permanent Henan population was 59.22%, an increase of 1.14 percentage points compared to the end of the previous year.
Throughout the year, 762,000 births were registered in the Henan population, resulting in a birth rate of 7.78‰. Meanwhile, the number of deaths was 773,000, with a mortality rate of 7.89‰. The natural population growth rate stood at -0.11‰.
