Henan launches third direct rail-sea transport route
On June 2, a batch of steel storage cabinets arrived at Lianyungang Port from Zhengzhou via a rail-sea intermodal route. The cargo will be directly transferred onto vessels for shipment to Indonesia. This marks the launch of Henan's third rail-sea intermodal route, following the routes from Zhengzhou to Qingdao Port and to Ningbo-Zhoushan Port. The new route is bound to further strengthen the connection between Zhengzhou and China's coastal gateways.
6月2日,一批满载钢制储物柜的集装箱班列,从郑州以铁海直运模式到达连云港港口,将采取“抵港直装”方式装船运至印度尼西亚。这是继郑州至青岛港和郑州至宁波舟山港铁海直运线路开通后,河南开通的第三条铁海直运线路,使得郑州“内陆港”与沿海“出海口”的衔接越来越紧密。
The new route was jointly launched by Central China Land-Sea International Multimodal Transport Zhengzhou Co Ltd and Lianyungang Port Group, with support from Zhengzhou Railway Customs, CR Intermodal Zhengzhou Terminal and other stakeholders. It not only offers foreign trade enterprises a new logistics option that is stable, eco-friendly and efficient, but also further strengthens the role of Zhengzhou as a China Railway Express consolidation hub by improving its integrated hub-and-spoke logistics network.
据介绍,该线路由中部陆海国际多式联运郑州有限公司与连云港港口集团合作打通,郑州车站海关、中铁联集郑州中心站等多方支持,为外贸企业提供了一条稳定、绿色、快捷的物流新选择,进一步完善了郑州中欧班列集结中心“干支结合、枢纽集散”的高效集疏运体系。
Unlike traditional rail-sea intermodal transport, the direct rail-sea model connects railway ports with seaports through integrated systems and shared information platforms, enabling automated customs transfer and seamless clearance for export goods. Zhengzhou was the first city in China to adopt this model, pioneering its implementation nationwide. By streamlining customs declaration and inspection procedures, the system boosts logistics efficiency. Compared with the conventional road-sea transport model, direct rail-sea shipping can cut costs by about 25%, and it shortens transit time by 1 to 2 days compared to traditional rail-sea intermodal transport.
与传统铁海联运不同,铁海直运是铁路港和海港系统对接、信息共享的产物,实现了出口货物的自动化转关和无感通关。在全国范围内,铁海直运模式在郑州首落地,通过优化报关和查验流程,大大提高了物流运输效率。与“公路运输+海运”相比,铁海直运的成本可降低约25%;相比传统铁海联运模式,铁海直运可缩短运输时间1-2天。
Since its rollout in April 2024, Henan's direct rail-sea transport model has handled 36 shipments totaling over 1,150 tons, with destinations spanning Italy, Greece, Thailand, and beyond. The cargo range has expanded from aluminum foil and leather goods to include vehicles and auto parts.
