甲骨文“寒”外部为屋子的形状，中间是人形，人的周围是四堆草，表示人躲在屋内，蜷卧草上，本义即寒冷。
The oracle bone script form of the Chinese character "寒" depicts a house on the outside, a human figure in the center, and four piles of grass surrounding the person. This imagery conveys the idea of someone sheltering inside the house, curled up on the grass. Its original meaning is "cold."
