Qingming
The Qingming solar term, the fifth of 24 solar terms, is also one of Chinese important traditional festivals. It is not only a time for honoring ancestors and remembering loved ones but also a good season for outings, reconnecting with nature, and embracing new life. During this season, trees bud, flowers bloom, and nature bursts with vitality.
In southern China, people eat qingtuan, a green glutinous rice dumpling symbolizing reunion and good fortune. In the north, it is customary to eat eggs and cold pastries, representing new life and hope.
