On November 29th, the China-Hungary (Zhengzhou) International Cooperation and Industrial Technology Application Demonstration Center, housed in a distinctive building symbolizing a "Window to Time and Space", was officially inaugurated at the Longhu International Center in Zhengdong New District, Zhengzhou city, capital of Henan province. The opening of the Demonstration Center marks a new chapter in scientific innovation and industrial cooperation between Henan Province and Hungary.

开放河南吸引越来越多关注的目光。11月29日，天空湛蓝，阳光打在郑东新区一座寓意“时空之窗”的回字型建筑，中国—匈牙利（郑州）国际合作与产业技术应用示范中心在龙湖国际中心正式揭牌，标志着河南与匈牙利在科技创新和产业合作领域开启新篇章。

The Demonstration Center as the first official international project in Henan province was established through a collaboration between the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency and the Zhengzhou Municipal Government, with support from the Hungarian Innovation Agency, as well as its business and foreign affairs departments. The Demonstration Center aims to create an international cooperation platform focused on the industrial, talent, and trade needs of Zhengzhou and the Central Plains region, with a goal of driving innovation and serving as a model for further collaboration.

据介绍，中国—匈牙利（郑州）国际合作与产业技术应用示范中心由匈牙利出口促进局与郑州市人民政府共同合作创立，并得到匈牙利创新署以及商务部门、外事部门的大力支持，旨在打造围绕郑州及中原地区产业、人才、经贸需求等具有引领示范效应的国际合作平台。该示范中心项目是匈牙利国家政府与郑州市政府合作的重要示范工程项目，也是河南省第一个国际官方项目。

Wang Jinsong, a Second-Level Inspector at the European Department of China's Ministry of Commerce, noted that Hungary was the first European country to sign an intergovernmental cooperation agreement with China under the Belt and Road Initiative. Hungary also stands as China's third-largest trading partner in Central and Eastern Europe. This year commemorates the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary, a milestone that coincides with the elevation of their bilateral partnership to a "comprehensive strategic partnership", which has injected significant momentum into the high-level development of trade and economic cooperation between the two nations.

相知无远近，万里尚为邻。“匈牙利是第一个同中国签署共建‘一带一路’政府间合作文件的欧洲国家，也是中国在中东欧地区的第三大贸易伙伴。”商务部欧洲司二级巡视员王劲松说，今年是中匈建交75周年，中匈关系提升为新时代全天候全面战略伙伴关系，为双边经贸合作高水平发展注入了强劲动力。

In recent years, the ties between Henan and Hungary have grown increasingly closer. Zhengzhou has launched a cargo charter flight route and a China-Europe Railway Express (Zhengzhou) route to Hungary's capital Budapest. Companies like Antu Biological from Henan province have entered the Hungarian market. In the first ten months of this year, Henan's imports from Hungary increased by 154.6%, driven by products including precision instruments, auto parts, and food.

从多瑙河到黄河，从布达佩斯到郑州，河南与匈牙利这位国际“老朋友”的手越牵越紧。开通运营有郑州至布达佩斯货运包机航线、中欧班列(郑州)至匈牙利布达佩斯线路，安图生物等企业进入匈牙利市场，深度融入国际产业链供应链。今年前10个月，在精密仪器、车辆零部件、食品等进口产品带动下，河南省自匈进口大幅增长154.6%。

Budapest and Zhengzhou, though separated by thousands of miles, share many similarities: one is a central hub in Europe, the other in China. Both are key cities and guardians of history and culture, while also pioneers in future development. Robert Somogyi, Chief Operating Officer of the Hungarian Innovation Agency, expressed his enthusiasm upon visiting Zhengzhou. He highlighted that innovation is key to addressing contemporary challenges and it thrives on collaboration. Somogyi noted that Zhengzhou's rapidly growing high-tech industry aligns closely with Budapest's dynamic innovation ecosystem. There is huge potential for cooperation in fields such as new energy vehicles, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and biotechnology. The establishment of the Demonstration Center marks the commencement of a deeper cooperation between the two cities.

“布达佩斯和郑州，虽相去万里，但有很多共同之处：一个在欧洲的中心，一个在中国的中心，都是枢纽城市，也是历史文化的守护者、未来发展的开拓者。”来到郑州，匈牙利创新署首席运营官罗伯特·索莫尼（Robert Somogyi）格外高兴，他说，“创新是应对时代挑战的关键，但创新必须基于合作。郑州蓬勃发展的高科技产业和布达佩斯充满活力的创新生态契合度很高，在新能源汽车、清洁能源、高端制造、生物科技等领域合作潜力巨大，示范中心的揭牌成立是深化合作的开端。”

"The Hungarian Export Promotion Agency has nine offices in China, with one located in Henan. The Demonstration Center in Zhengzhou will play a key role in promoting cooperation between China and Hungary in various sectors such as technology, trade, education, and culture," said Csacho Melinda, Director at the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency. Melinda has a unique bond with Henan Province. During her high school years, she came to Zhengzhou to learn kung fu.

匈牙利出口促进局客户总监克萨乔·梅林达（Csacho Melinda）与河南有着特殊缘分。 上高中时，她就到郑州学过功夫；如今，她又有了新使命。“匈牙利出口促进局在中国有9个合作办事处，河南是其一，在郑州这个充满创新发展活力的城市设立示范中心，对促进中匈双方技术、经贸、教育、文化等领域合作将发挥不可替代的重要作用，随着深化合作，我们会在未来更好地相逢。”

On the day of the unveiling ceremony, the Demonstration Center signed key projects with the Hungarian Innovation Agency, Huanyu Tongda Aviation Co., Beijing Institute of Technology Zhengzhou Research Institute, United Nations Peace University ECPD, China-Hungary International Logistics Park, and Berlin Zhonghua Gallery. Chinese and Hungarian business representatives also conducted on-site promotions.

示范中心大有来头，也大有可为。当天，揭牌现场，示范中心与匈牙利创新署、寰宇通达航空有限公司、北京理工大学郑州研究院、联合国和平大学ECPD、中匈国际物流园、柏林中画廊等签约一批重点项目，中匈企业代表作现场推介和对接。

"The Center is tasked with four key functions: international scientific and technological cooperation, international trade cooperation, international education cooperation, and international cultural exchange," said Zhang Ya, Director of the Demonstration Center. The Center will create platforms for high-end Sino-Hungarian scientific research collaboration, international talent gathering and services, and the industrial application of advanced technologies. It will also partner with international universities to establish talent training bases, offer undergraduate and vocational programs, introduce technological resources, facilitate the commercialization of scientific innovations, and enhance cultural exchanges, setting a new benchmark for international cooperation in Henan.

“示范中心肩负着国际科技合作、国际贸易合作、国际教育合作、国际文化交流合作四大功能。”据中国—匈牙利（郑州）国际合作与产业技术应用示范中心主任张亚介绍，示范中心将构建起中匈高端国际科技研发合作与国际化服务平台、中匈国际人才聚集与服务平台、中匈国际先进技术成果产业化应用示范平台、海内外科创企业聚集与培育平台，联合国外高等院校共建人才培养基地，提供本科和专科合作办学项目，引进科技资源、促进科技成果转化、加强人文交流等，为河南竖起国际交流合作新标杆。

Balogh Andras Zoltan, Innovation and Technology Counselor at the Hungarian Embassy in China highlighted Hungary's prominence as a European hub for technological innovation, with 17 Nobel laureates and significant achievements in biomedicine, information technology, and scientific research. He noted that the long-standing friendship between Hungary and China offers vast opportunities for cooperation. The establishment and operation of the Demonstration Center will be pivotal in deepening and advancing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
