The "Evolution of Chinese Characters" exhibition took place in London,UK from April 20th to May 7th, 2024, which was organized by the Chinese Embassyin the UK and jointly hosted by China's National Museum of Chinese Writing, Artand Design Magazine, and the School of Foreign Studies at Tongji University.

由中国驻英国大使馆主办，中国文字博物馆、艺术与设计杂志社、同济大学外国语学院联合承办的“汉字演变”展览于2024年4月20日至5月7日在英国伦敦展出。

The exhibition was divided into three parts: "The Evolution of ChineseCharacters" "From Printing to Informatization" and "TheBeauty of Chinese Characters", which delved into the origin and historicaldevelopment of Chinese characters, tracing their evolution from oracle bonescript to regular script. It showcased the transition from movable typeprinting, one of China's Four Great Inventions, to modern typesettingtechnology and the informatization revolution driven by computer technology.

此次展览分为“古今汉字的演变”“从印刷术到信息化”“美哉汉字”三个部分，聚焦汉字的起源和历史发展，探索汉字从甲骨文到楷书的历史演变和传播轨迹，细数名列中国四大发明的活字印刷术到汉字照排技术、再到计算机技术新的历史时期进行的信息化变革，讲述汉字书写融入中国人日常生活的“和合之美”。

A highlight of the exhibition is the bilingual animation "Little CangJie Talking About Chinese Characters," crafted by the Chinese CharacterMuseum, making its overseas debut. Additionally, lectures and workshops such as"Dialogue between Eastern and Western Cultures" "Seal EngravingWorkshop" "Diverse Chinese Writing Systems" and"Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Culture" attracted Britishaudiences.

此次展览中，由中国文字博物馆精心打造的中英双语动画《小仓颉说汉字》首次在海外亮相，通过创新的数字技术手段，为观众带来了全新的视觉体验和文化感受。“东西方文化对话”“篆刻工作坊”“中国多样化文字系统”“中医与中国文化”等系列讲座和工作坊也是此次展览的一大亮点，吸引英国观众驻足观看。

Many visitors said that the exhibition furthered their understanding ofChinese characters and ignited a stronger interest in Chinese culture. Somealso expressed a passion to visit Anyang, Henan Province, the birthplace oforacle bone inscriptions.

许多观众表示，展览让他们对汉字有了更加深入的了解，对中华文化产生了更加浓厚的兴趣，还对甲骨文的故乡——中国河南安阳充满向往。

The exhibition not only provides an opportunity for the British public to furthertheir understanding of Chinese character culture and Anyang, Henan Province,but also builds a bridge of friendship for cultural exchanges between China andthe UK.
