小寒有三侯：一候雁北乡，二候鹊始巢，三候雉始雊。
There are 3 stages of Lesser Cold: brids begin to fly from south to north, magpies begin to build nests and roosters begin to crow.
在小寒期间，中国大部分地区都已进入寒冬时节。土地和河流都被冰冻了起来。北方的冷空气不断向南移动。
During Lesser Cold, most areas in China have entered the bitter cold stage of winter. The ground and rivers are frozen. The cold air from the north moves southward continuously.
