Zhengzhou Open 2023 WTA kicks off in Zhengzhou, China

The2023ZhengzhouOpentennistournament kicked off at the Central Plain Tennis Center in Zhengzhou, China, from Oct 7 to 15. The event is a WTA 500tournament played on outdoor hard courts. Seven of the WTA's top 10 players, including Coco Gauff (Singles Ranking: 3; Doubles Ranking: 1) and Elena Rybakina (Champion of Women's Singles at Wimbledon 2022, Singles Ranking: 5), and China's top tennis player Zheng Qinwen, have gathered in Zhengzhou to compete for the championship. This 9-day event will offer fans a tennis feast.

The event is among the world's most popular women's sports events. Its presence in Zhengzhou fills the gap of top international tennis events held in the Central Plains and makes China the second country to host every level of the WTA tournaments after the United States.
