From September7 to 8, the 2023 China (Zhengzhou) International Futures Forum was held in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Central China's Henan Province. The forum is themed "Implementing the New Development Philosophy to Serve the New Development Paradigm and Promote High-Quality Development - Enabling Chinese Modernization Development by the Modern Futures Market with Chinese Characteristics." Experts, scholars, and practitioners from both domestic and foreign futures fields attended the event.

9月7日至8日，2023中国(郑州)国际期货论坛在郑州国际会展中心举行。论坛以“贯彻新发展理念 服务新发展格局 推动高质量发展——中国特色现代期货市场助力中国式现代化建设”为主题。来自海内外的期货领域专家学者和从业人员等齐聚郑州，共话发展。

He said that China has created a miracle of economic growth in the past few decades. Productivity growth is the main driving force of economic development, which has led to many regional economic growth models in the past. However, innovation and R&D are the center of future economic growth, so more attention needs to be paid to the innovative development of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

托马斯·萨金特指出，中国在过去几十年时间里创造了经济增长奇迹。生产力增长是经济增长的主要动力，过去很多区域经济增长模式都是由此而来，但未来经济增长真正的核心是创新与研发，因此需要更加重视中小企业的创新发展。

He added that SMEs will develop faster in China because the Chinese government has provided measures in policies, laws, and finance that cannot be more fitting and is supporting and promoting their growth.

托马斯·萨金特称，中小企业在中国发展会更容易一些，因为中国政府为中小企业发展提供了非常有针对性的政策、法律、金融等措施，并在扶持和推动它们成长。

随着中国金融机构的迅速扩张、衍生品市场的持续发展，中国的市场参与者在全球的整体敞口和风险不断增加的情况下，对冲的需求也会随之增长。在他看来，去年《中华人民共和国期货和衍生品法》正式出台，不仅为场内外市场均建立了法律框架，还为场内外衍生品交易提供了更适当的框架，使市场参与者更加清晰如何建立和发展业务。

Russell Beattie said that with the rapid development of Chinese financial institutions and the continuous development of the derivatives market, the demand for hedging by Chinese market participants will also increase as global exposure and risk continue to increase. In his view, the official introduction of the Futures and Derivative Law of the People's Republic of China last year not only provided a legal framework for both on and off-exchange markets but also offered a framework for trading on and off-exchange derivatives, making market participants more aware of how to enter into business relations and develop businesses.
