2023 China's Root-seeking Summer Camp(Henan) closed

2023“中国寻根之旅”夏令营-遇见黄河·文化营闭营

"This time, I came to Henan to participate in the camp, explored the essence of the Yellow River culture, and sang the 'Song of the Yellow River' at the Yellow River Museum and the bank of the Yellow River. I feel enormously proud of being a descendant of the Chinese people." Canadian camper Zhang Yibin said with excitement.

“这次来到河南参加‘中国寻根之旅’，探索黄河文化精髓，共同在黄河博物馆和黄河岸边唱响《黄河之歌》，为自己是一名炎黄子孙而感到无比的骄傲和自豪。”加拿大营员代表张艺缤难掩内心的激动。

On August 22, the 2023 "China Root Seeking" summer camp(Henan) ended in Zhengzhou city, central China's Henan province. Over 40 overseas Chinese teenagers from the UK, Canada, Germany, and Thailand gathered together to express their love for Chinese culture in different forms and languages at the closing ceremony.

夏伏未央，秋色初现。8月22日，2023“中国寻根之旅”夏令营-遇见黄河·文化营活动在郑州落下帷幕。来自英国、加拿大、德国、泰国的40余名海外华裔青少年汇聚一堂，用不同形式和语言表达了对中华文化的热爱，也为为期10天的“中国寻根之旅”画上圆满的句号。

The summer camp is themed "The Yellow River, Chinese Language, Culture, and Roots Seeking." It is hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and organized by the Henan Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese(HPFROC) and the Henan Provincial International Culture Communication Association for Overseas Chinese. The campers went to the Yellow River, the hometown of the Yellow Emperor, Shaolin Temple, Longmen Grottoes, Henan Museum, and other places to enjoy a feast of sight, taste, and hearing and appreciate the charm of Chinese culture.

本期夏令营以“黄河、汉语、文化、寻根”为主题，由中国侨联主办，河南省侨联、河南省华侨国际文化艺术交流协会承办，营员们走进黄河郑州段、黄帝故里、少林寺、龙门石窟、河南博物院等地，体验到一场视觉、味觉、听觉的多重盛宴，亲身感受到了中华文化之美。

"Some campers and teachers shared their experiences and exciting moments on Facebook and Twitter, and many overseas Chinese embassies and consulates, overseas Chinese youth, and overseas Chinese groups also expressed their gratitude to us. Everyone was deeply moved during this event," said Lv Jian, one of the leaders of the HPFROC. He hopes that overseas Chinese youth can become witnesses, supporters, and members of cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and other civilizations, so as to better present Chinese culture to the world.

“一些营员和领队通过脸书、推特分享感受和精彩瞬间，海外组团单位所在国使领馆、海外华裔青少年和海外侨团也通过多种渠道表达谢意，大家在此次活动中收获了满满的感动。”河南省侨联党组成员、副主席吕剑说，希望海外华裔青少年发挥学贯中外、融通东西的优势，延续中华文化的海外生命力，做中外文化交流互鉴的亲历者、见证者、推动者和贡献者。

Many campers said they are grateful to the HPFROC for providing this rare opportunity to experience China and Henan. This trip made them more aware of their roots and proud of being the descendant of the Chinese people.

“感谢侨联组织提供的这个难得的近距离感受中国、感受河南的机会。这次踏上中原沃土，祭拜轩辕黄帝，让我更加清楚自己是谁，自己从哪里来，感悟到作为炎黄子孙与有荣焉。”华裔青少年纷纷表示，这是一次终生难忘的“寻根之旅”。

The HPFROC awarded certificates to outstanding teachers and campers at the closing ceremony. The youngsters also performed and sang the "Song of the Yellow River" together, bringing the ceremony to a climax.

闭营仪式上，主办单位向优秀领队老师和营员颁发了优秀证书，海外华裔青少年营员们还进行了精彩纷呈的才艺展示，在共唱《黄河之歌》的温馨氛围中将闭营仪式推向高潮。

This year, the HPFROC has organized four summer camps, including "Meet Henan·Impression Camp," "Meet Kung Fu·Zhengzhou Camp," "Meet Ancient Capital·Luoyang Camp," and "Meet the Yellow River·Culture Camp." These camps are themed with "Henan," "Kung Fu," "Ancient Capital," and "the Yellow River," which have been welcomed by teenagers at home and abroad, having played a positive role in promoting Chinese culture to the world and deepening exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.

今年，河南省侨联立足地域特色，策划了遇见河南·印象营、遇见功夫·郑州营、遇见古都·洛阳营、遇见黄河·文化营等4期“遇见”系列实体营，分别以“河南”“功夫”“古都”“黄河”为主题，受到国内外华裔青少年的欢迎，为促进中华文化走向世界、增进中外文明交流互鉴发挥了积极作用。
