2023 "Roots Seeking Tour in China" Summer Camp (Henan) closed in Zhengzhou

2023“中国寻根之旅”夏令营-遇见河南·印象营圆满闭营

The closing ceremony of the 2023 "Roots Seeking Tour in China" Summer Camp (Henan) was held on July 12 in the New Campus of Henan University of Chinese Medicine, Zhengzhou City, Central China’s Henan Province. The event was hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC) and organized by the Henan Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (HPFROC) and the Henan Overseas Chinese International Culture and Art Communication Association for (HICACA).

7月12日，由中国侨联主办，河南省侨联和河南省华侨国际文化艺术交流协会承办的2023年“中国寻根之旅”夏令营遇见河南·印象营闭营仪式在河南中医药大学龙子湖校区举行。

It is themed "Chinese, Culture, and Root Hunting." One hundred fifty-five overseas Chinese teenagers visited Zhengzhou, Xinzheng, Dengfeng, Kaifeng, and other places to appreciate the richness of the Chinese civilization with the themes of "Meet the Yellow River," "Meet Chinese Characters," "Meet Shaolin Kungfu," "Meet Chinese Surnames," "Meet Chinese foods," etc.

为确保办营特色和质量，活动邀请多家单位，围绕遇见中国河-黄河、遇见中国字-汉字、遇见中国武术-少林、遇见中国姓氏、遇见中国美食等“遇见河南”主题线路，让海外华裔青少年探访郑州、新郑、登封、开封等地，领略博大精深的中华文明和源远流长的中原文化。

Liu Hesheng, the secondary inspector of the HPFROC; Zhang Jiamin, the vice president of Henan University of Chinese Medicine; Zhu Zhongbao and Xiao Jianzhong, the honorary chairpersons of the HICA; Chen Xianghui, the chairman of the HICACA; and 45 overseas Chinese teenagers and their leaders from Australia, the United States, Belgium, Spain, and Germany attended the closing ceremony.

河南省侨联二级巡视员刘合生，河南省中医药大学副校长张加民，河南省华侨国际文化艺术交流协会名誉主席朱忠宝、肖建中，河南省华侨国际文化艺术交流协会主席陈向辉和来自澳大利亚、美国、比利时华、西班牙、德国的45位海外华裔青少年、领队参加闭营仪式。

Liu said that he hopes everyone can share the "Chinese story" and "Yellow River story" they have learned in the past ten days with their families, friends, and classmates so that the world can better understand China and get closer to Henan.

刘合生表示，他希望大家能把这10天耳濡目染的“中国故事”“黄河故事”讲给亲人、朋友和同学听，让世界更好地了解中国、亲近河南。

Zhang said he hopes the campers can bridge friendly exchanges between China and other countries to keep China's fine traditional culture alive and strong and promote deep friendship between Chinese and overseas Chinese at home and abroad.

张加民希望营员们当好中外友好交流的桥梁和纽带，成为中华文化的弘扬者和传播者，做好增进海内外华人华侨深厚友谊的小使者和移动“名片”。

"The HICA will continue to shoulder the responsibilities following the requirements of the ACFROC and the HPFROC and make proactive efforts to promote cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world," said Chen.

陈向辉表示，河南省华侨国际文化艺术交流协会将一如既往按照中国侨联、河南省侨联的要求，积极担当作为，为推动中外文化交流作出积极努力。

"I deeply understood for the first time that the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is not only a slogan but also the responsibility every Chinese should take up," said Wang Yu, the leader of overseas Chinese teenagers from Australia.

“我也第一次深深理解了，中华民族伟大复兴梦，不只是一个口号一种情怀，更是每一个炎黄子孙华夏儿女的责任和担当。”澳大利亚的领队王钰说。

At the closing ceremony, the campers performed "Shaolin Kung Fu," solo dance "Daughters Born on the Yellow Earth," poetry recitation "Youths' China," flute show "Jasmine Flower," dance "I'm the Best" and other programs.

闭营仪式上，营员们表演了《少林功夫》、独舞《黄土地上的女儿》、诗朗诵《少年中国》、长笛 《茉莉花》、舞蹈《我最牛》等节目，展现了朝气蓬勃的精神风貌。

This visit to Henan will be an unforgettable memory for overseas Chinese teenagers and make them fall in love with Chinese culture and the Central Plains better.

本次河南之旅设计匠心、精彩纷呈，必将成为来豫海外华裔青少年生命中难忘的闪光时刻，成为点燃大家探索中华文明激情、悦动心灵的美好之旅，成为海外华裔青少年爱上中华文化、爱上中原大地的青春记忆。
