The oldest known work of Chinese sculpture art found in Xuchang
Being exhibited in the Xuchang Museum, Henan Province, a 13,500-year-old bird sculpture unearthed from Lingjing Site in 2009, is the oldest known work of Chinese sculpture art so far, and has been proved to be the only Paleolithic animal sculpture standing on a base in East Asia. This discovery sets back the origin of sculpture in East Asia by more than 8,000 years.
